Traffic
Exchanges
Traffic exchanges are good for getting
traffic to your site, but you should remember that most of the
time this traffic is untargeted, meaning 99%+ of those visitors
you receive from traffic exchanges will not be interested in
your site or products. There are literally thousands of
different traffic exchanges out there, but most involve some
work on your part, such as manually clicking on ads, or
watching an auto-rotator of ads, in order to get other
traffic exchange users to your site. You can avoid this by
paying for x number of hits, but as you are paying for
untargeted traffic I personally don't believe it's worth
it.
In the past I've tried out several different
traffic exchanges and have had limited results trying
to promote affiliate products. However you shouldn't
rule them out completely.
I have found them to be excellent for
promoting squeeze pages, which are simply pages
designed with the sole purpose of capturing the
visitor's name and email address. Offer a free report or bonus
products to encourage them to sign up to your list. Once they
have subscribed you can start to build a relationship with
them, earn their trust, and promote your products in due course
over a series of email messages, and earn money this way.
If you're looking at building a list
of subscribers then traffic exchanges can be very
effective for this. Also they are quite effective if you
are looking to build a downline for example, or you are
promoting products on how to get traffic, because the other
users using these exchanges are most likely interested
in this very subject.
The exchange I've had the best results with
in this regard is Traffic Swarm, but I also use several
other exchanges, such as TS25, Webbizinsider, Fast Freeway, Trafficpods, and Hitpulse, and cross-promote to try and
build a downline of referrals in each one.
If you haven't already done so I recommend
signing up to my newsletter (from the homepage) where you will
receive the 'Amazing Traffic Formula' which offers some
excellent information on getting the most out of traffic
exchanges.
As with any method of promotion, use ad
tracking software to track the effectiveness of any given ad,
and stick with those that are producing good results.
